Knowing a location is not the same as knowing it well. We have spent years learning the difference — across four of Italy's most extraordinary film and photo production destinations.

Each one is completely distinct. Each one requires a different kind of knowledge, a different set of relationships, and a different understanding of what the location gives you - and what it asks of you in return. What they share is that Sicily Productions has been working in all of them long enough to know where the real opportunities are, and how to reach them.

Sicily Raw & cinematic
Puglia Golden & refined
Amalfi Dramatic & iconic
Sardinia Wild & untouched
01 · Sicily

Raw, Cinematic, Completely Itself

Sicily is our most established location for fashion shoots, commercial photography, and film production in Italy – and the soul of everything we do. The island offers a range that very few locations can match: baroque hill towns and ancient Greek ruins, rugged volcanic coastline and fishing villages, the drama of the interior and the extraordinary light of the southern Mediterranean.

After hundreds of productions here, we know the version of Sicily that does not appear on any mood board – the courtyards, the castle keys, the hidden places that take years of relationships to access. Sicily doesn’t need to be directed. It needs to be listened to.

02 · Puglia

Whitewashed Trulli, Ancient Olive Groves, Golden Light

Puglia is a leading destination for luxury fashion editorials and lifestyle shoots —

-and one that rewards those who take the time to look properly. Its beauty is quieter and more understated than Sicily: less dramatic, but arguably more versatile.

The colour palette alone – chalk white, warm terracotta, deep blue sea, silver-green olive leaves – works beautifully with fashion-forward styling and natural beauty campaigns. The private masserie, the walled estates, the ancient groves: these are the locations that brands return to season after season. We know which ones to ask for, and who to ask.

03 · Amalfi Coast

One of the Most Filmed Locations in the World - and Still Capable of Surprise

The challenge with the Amalfi Coast is not finding beauty – it is finding the version of it that has not already been used a hundred times. That requires local knowledge: the terraced lemon grove that is not on any agency reference board, the viewpoint that only locals know, the access that requires a conversation rather than a booking form.

The Amalfi Coast rewards the prepared. We have been preparing for years.

Amalfi
04 · Sardinia

The Italy That Doesn't Look Like Italy

Sardinia’s wild, untouched quality is its defining characteristic. The north of the island — the Costa Smeralda and beyond — has extraordinary turquoise water and white sand that genuinely surprises clients who have only seen it in photographs. The interior is something else entirely: a rugged, ancient landscape that feels far removed from mainstream Italian tourism.

It offers a completely different visual register. We know both sides of Sardinia, and we know how to move between them.

Sardinia

Four completely different worlds. One film and photo production company that knows all of them — and brings that expertise to every shoot, wherever in Italy it takes us.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does Sicily differ from Puglia as a production location?
+
Sicily is more dramatic and more cinematic — ancient ruins, volcanic landscapes, baroque architecture, and a rawness that gives imagery real weight. Puglia is quieter and more refined: whitewashed villages, olive groves, and a warm Mediterranean palette that suits luxury fashion and lifestyle content especially well. Both are exceptional; the right choice depends entirely on the brief.
Is the Amalfi Coast overused as a shoot location?
+
The obvious version of it, yes. But the Amalfi Coast we work in — the private access, the lesser-known terraces and viewpoints, the locations that require relationships rather than a permit application — is genuinely fresh. The key is knowing where to look beyond the obvious, which is exactly what years of working here gives you.
What makes Sardinia different from Italy's other coastal locations?
+
Sardinia has a wildness and an untouched quality that the other locations do not. The water in the north is extraordinary — genuinely Caribbean in colour and clarity. It is also less immediately associated with Italian fashion and commercial photography, which means work shot there tends to feel fresher and less expected.
Can you manage a production that spans multiple Italian locations?
+
Yes — and this is one of our strengths. Multi-location productions across Sicily, Puglia, the Amalfi Coast, and Sardinia require careful logistical coordination: permits across different municipalities, transport between regions, crew scheduling, accommodation, and contingency planning. We have done this many times.
How far in advance should I contact you for a multi-location production?
+
For productions spanning two or more locations, eight weeks is the minimum we recommend, and twelve is ideal. That said, we can move quickly when we need to — if your timeline is tight, come to us as early as possible and we will tell you honestly what is achievable.
