April to June and September to October offer ideal light and comfortable temperatures across most of Italy. Southern Italy and the islands are also excellent in winter, with mild weather that makes them a popular choice for spring/summer campaigns shot out of season, while winter is the season for snow shoots in the Italian Alps. July and August are possible but hot and busy, so plan early.
